Quantum-Enhanced Bio-Imaging: Squeezed-Light Super-resolution Microscopy for Live Deep Tissue Analysis
Biomedical imaging faces a fundamental challenge in achieving super-resolution and long-term visualization of live cells and tissues without phototoxicity. This project proposes a quantum-enhanced bio-imaging platform based on squeezed-light super-resolution microscopy, operating at ultra-low photon flux using near-infrared (1064 nm) and visible (532 nm) excitation. By suppressing quantum noise below the shot-noise limit, the system enhances signal-to-noise ratio while preserving live-sample viability. The platform integrates a stabilized squeezed-light source with precision optical detection and computational reconstruction to overcome classical diffraction and noise limits. Validation will be performed on bio-printed three-dimensional tissue models and live-cell systems, with direct comparison to classical illumination. The project combines expertise in quantum optics, bioengineering, and simulations, supported by industrial partners for system integration and biomedical validations.
